The Tamil The Tamil Language Council (TLC) together with various Indian groups is celebrating Tamil Language Festival (TLF) in April 2008. Significant events organised by leading Tamil organisations in Singapore will take place every weekend from 5th to 27th April.
In conjunction with the month-long Tamil Language Festival, the National Library is organising a closing for the Festival - a Tamil Seminar titled "The Antiquity and Development of the Tamil Language". As Tamil is one of the official languages in Singapore, this is one way the government shows its support for the language. For the Seminar, the National Library is inviting two non-native speakers of the Tamil language, one being a Russian and the other, a Japanese.
